I’m here for your hair
The Intelligencer Wheeling is reporting that four Amish men and women are suspects in a string of home invasions that occurred in Amish communities in Ohio. During each break in, the burglars would cut off the hair of the women and shave the beards of the men. Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla stated that the hair of the victims was returned to Sam Mullet the bishop, of the Bergholz group, to show that Mullet’s orders concerning the hair cutting was followed. There is no word yet on why the gang would break in to people’s homes to assault them and steal their hair, presumably Bishop Mullet is the only one who can answer that.
Burglary, or the breaking into a person’s home is illegal in South Carolina. Burglary in the first degree is a felony and is punishable by life imprisonment. (SC Code 16-11-311). Don’t break into someone’s home to steal their hair, and if you do, call the Galle Law Firm, LLC.

I bet it has something to do with drug tests
I hope it has something to do with drug tests and not something else more insidious.
I think we have an answer: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/24/us/7-arrested-in-hair-cutting-attacks-on-amish-in-ohio.html?_r=1&hp
I was just about to post a link to this article. You beat me to it Greg! I thought the comment by the victim who stated he would rather be beaten up than have his hair cut was particularly interesting.
